Fullback / wingback · Soccer training in Brentwood, CA

Fullback & wingback training

Fullbacks and wingbacks defend 1v1 out wide, then overlap and deliver crosses. They need fitness, repeat sprints, and crossing with both feet.

What we train

1v1 defending wide

Showing wingers down the line, staying connected to the center back and not diving in.

Overlaps and underlaps

Timing runs to support the winger and arriving at speed.

Crossing and cutbacks

Driven, whipped and pulled-back deliveries from different areas.

Repeat sprints

Conditioning to get up and back for a whole game.

Drills to do at home

Shuttle repeats

Low and fast turns; keep form when tired.
