Soccer training for ECNL players

ECNL is one of the top girls' and boys' youth leagues in the country. Rosters are competitive, games are fast, and players who stand out are the ones who are technically clean under pressure and comfortable on both feet.

What coaches look for

  • — First touch that sets up the next action
  • — Two-footed passing and finishing
  • — Decisions at game speed
  • — Strength, speed and injury resilience across a long season

How we train it

1-on-1 sessions on the exact details, Plyo for speed and power, and an Individual Development Plan with goals and homework — scheduled around club practice, games and recovery.

Common questions

How do I prepare for ECNL tryouts?

Start 6–10 weeks before tryouts. Focus on first touch, weak-foot work and 1v1 situations, plus speed and agility. A 1-on-1 coach can find the gaps a club evaluator will notice and build a plan to close them.

Is private training worth it for ECNL players?

Club practice is built for the team. Private sessions target the individual — the weak foot, the scanning habit, the finishing — which is often what separates starters from players on the bench.

How often should an ECNL player train outside club?

Most players benefit from one or two focused extra sessions a week, adjusted around games and recovery so they don't overload.
